I just installed this flip down DVD player in my Suzuki wagon. It went in real easily and looks really good. It's pretty thin so, it's not too big or hanging down too far to interfere with head space. It's easy to use and the picture is real nice. I bought the PLRD-92 and I have to say, that it DOES have a built in IR Transmitter. I bought a set of wireless headphones and they work GREAT. the sound quality is excellent, even to the Radio thru the built in FM Transmitter. I contacted PYLE prior to making this purchase and they told me that the unit DOES come with built in IR Transmitter. I don't understand why people here on Amazon reviews are saying otherwise. You do have to keep in mind that wireless headphones ONLY work when they are in-front of the unit, not behind it. it is a safety feature to keep people from using the wireless heaphones while driving. The side with the LED lights on this unit should be facing back, because it is on that side of the unit that the IR sensors are located. The signal to the headphones is automatically disconnected when the headphones go past the point where the IR sensor is located. again, ITS A SAFETY FEATURE. I was excited when I first got this dvd player and did the install myself on my 2007 Odyssey EX-L (with sunroof, but no factory RES). I also bought a pair of XO Vision IR-620 headphones which work okay, were cheap, but do have a noticeable hum. The unit itself wasn't hard to install - the trouble I had was mostly because the Odyssey's headliner is a challenge to bring down. The mounting screws that come with the unit are way too short, though. You'll probably need to pick up some longer ones at the hardware store. There's six screws that mount the unit to the mounting bracket - I used 4mmx30 (70 pitch), i believe. I bought a couple extra long (55mm) screws too that make installing easier. You also need four short sheet metal screws to mount the bracket to the cross beam in the roof just behind the sunroof. Might want to pick up some insulated quick connectors, too. Oh, and before you go through the install, connect the unit to the battery and make sure it works.

This USB Adapter is amazingly simple to install and has been operating flawlessly on my 2010 LG 42" LED HDTV (42LE5400) ever since I installed it 6 weeks ago. It simply plugs in like any other USB Adapter on the back of the TV. Please note that it is not supported by older LG HDTV models (I suggest to check the LG website for specifics).

To get it operational:
Once plugged into the USB port of the HDTV, I needed to first setup the wireless access point on the HDTV (LG's owner's manual says exactly what to do, following on-screen menu selections), then unlock my network via the router and follow the router's software instructions for adding a new network device (I run a 802.11n wireless network using Cisco's "WRT160N" router with WPA2 encryption and manage the network using Cisco's "Network Magic Pro" software). I've read a great deal of the reviews on this site, both for this dongle, and the LG TVs that use them. So that you don't go through what I did, I'm posting this review.

I purchased the LG32LD550, as well as the dongle here, at the beginning of January. LG requires that you purchase this device to use their Netcast services, which include Netflix streaming video. Sounds like a great idea. If only it worked.

The TV hangs on a mount in my bedroom, with my wireless network (Airport Extreme)in a closet about 8 feet away. The dongle, which is simple to install, just slides into the USB port on the left hand side of the TV. And that's where the easy part ends.

Despite repeated attempts, I could not get the dongle to see our wireless network with any consistency. Sometimes it would find it (registering 5 bars) but most of the time it would see nothing, or another network in my building. Even when it "saw" the network, it would drop the connection... I was told that I needed an LG dongle for my wireless "ready" TV in order for it to be completely wireless with my router. (TV is a 55 LE 5500) Love the picture. However the dongle was proprietary to LG machines and had not been even issued yet by LG - which I thought was strange and not particularly smart. However, after a couple weeks I heard that the dongle had been completed and was on the market - but only on the west coast. So I found one through Amazon.com and it arrived in about a week. It is called an LG AN-WF100 Wi-Fi USB Adapter and is the only one the 55" LG will work with. That seems a little strange to me also. Why make things so difficult? And if you do, how about letting the retail sellers know about it. I should have been told that before buying. However it has all worked out because I installed the dongle immediately, the bright blue end of it lit up and is working perfectly. I purchased this DVD player for it's wireless connectivity to my home network. It works great connecting to both Netflix and Amazon Prime. Setup is very easy; was up and running in just a few minutes. I did play both a regular and a Blu-Ray DVD to see if the machine was working correctly. They both played fine; Blu-Ray playback was super. If I were to note one problem with this player it would be start-up time. I also own a Panasonic Blu-Ray player which begins playing DVDs quite a bit quicker than this Sony. All things considered, this model is a good choice. Another plus is its size ...very compact! If this is an important consideration, it will be a great buy!

I've being searching around for a great Net streamer as well as Bluray/DVD player. I've tried many players from Sony (last years x80 series) and players from Panasonic including their new BDT-220 2012 player. The Sony S390 for me (and the equivalent S590) in my eyes are the best players out there right now.

Netflix has being drastically updated on the 2012 Sony players with a brand new user interface and support for 1080p/Dolby Digital + audio. Similarly the Amazon VOD app has had a update and supports Dolby Digital audio bitstream. HULU+ and Vudu are pretty much as they were on the 2011 Sony players, and work fine, although it would be nice if Sony move the HULU+ app from the PS3 over to this player. The iPhone app comes in handy for text input to quickly find a movie, or show .. but for whatever reason this feature does not work currently with Netflix or Vudu text searching.

Bluray and DVDs playback are great with awesome picture quality. No issues to report... Read more
